Ian Dobson

Ian Dobson & Michael Heald – It Should be Mathematical
Thursday, May 2 – 7:00 PM

Last year, Portland author Michael Heald wrote the essay “It Should be Mathematical” which revolved around husband and wife runners Ian Dobson and Julia Lucas, and the 2012 Olympic trials. The resulting story far exceeded the usual norms of sports-based storytelling and has received universal praise. Michael subsequently included the essay in his thoughtful, and well reviewed, debut book, “Goodbye to the Nervous Apprehension.”

Portland Track Festival is proud to present an outing with Michael and Ian, as they talk about their interactions and the story behind the story. The event will take place at Tabor Bread at 5051 SE Hawthorne Blvd, on Thursday, May 2nd at 7:00 PM. Light food & drink will be available.
